Since that time, we’ve been privileged to host hundreds of guests celebrating their own milestones – birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, honeymoons, mini-moons, babymoons – a quick getaway to take in a show at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, Penns Peak or a ride down the Lehigh River. We’ve hosted business travelers and writers and people just looking to find a little peace in their busy lives.
Looking through our guest books, the names of friends we’ve made along the way stand out. They not only offered their tips on what to see and do in Jim Thorpe but about life and love, as well.
One guest wrote,” I enjoyed reading all the love stories written down in this guest book. I hope you all cherish the moments you have with one another. Love is precious.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our guests, our families and friends who have encouraged and supported our efforts. Thank you to our friend/bartender/Realtor/hairdresser Donna Dugan, for helping us purchase this wonderful building. Chip and Hughie, we owe you anniversary beers for your marketing efforts at the pub on our behalf. We’d also like to thank my brothers John Marasheski for all his help in setting up our websites, and Chris Marasheski , along with his wife TJ, for their hard work. Thank you to our friend and neighbor, David Price, for allowing us to use his beautiful image of Race Street on our business cards and to sign maker extraordinaire Doug Rontz for our fabulous sign. There are so many others who have been generous to us, who are not named here, but are just as much appreciated.
Anniversaries are a time to look back, celebrate and look forward. We look forward to welcoming new guests in new spaces and help them to fall in love with the town of Jim Thorpe, the way Chris and I did. We also look forward to making new friends and welcoming back old friends and return guests.
Thanks to all of you who helped make this dream of ours a reality.
