Hikers found this fairy cottage on Flagstaff this week.

Jim Thorpe is a magical place any time of the year. Each Christmas, however, it takes on a whole new feel with the town’s celebration of Olde Time Christmas.

The lights, the decorations, train rides with Santa are all part of the festive event. Adding more to the excitement, Jim Thorpe seems to have fallen under an enchantment this Christmas. Fairy houses have been popping up around the town of Jim Thorpe – on the mountain, near the river bank – perhaps to remind us of the magic and the mystery all around us.

Tonight, Friday the 13th, we’ll be celebrating the town’s enchantment at Three Mountains Gallery, 29 Race Street, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Fairy cottages entered into the Olde Time Christmas festival contest, as well as others created by local artists Randall Sellers and Stephanie Verme, will be on exhibit, along with works by Race Street artist/gallery owner David Price and Amanda Hoffman. There will also be readings of written works inspired by the enchantment of the mountains by Price, Colleen Davis, and Diane Prokop.

Refreshments will be served. This is a free event.  For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/JimThorpeHistoricRaceStreet

While up on Race Street, be sure to stop in at 13th Moon Creations for their Open House.
