Summer may have officially started in June but summer fun in Jim Thorpe is really heating up now that we’re in July.
Ben Taylor rocked the Benjamin Franklin Parkway last night as part of the Philly Jam Festival. Here in Jim Thorpe, we’re counting the hours until Ben, whose musical genes come from James Taylor and Carly Simon, takes the stage at the Mauch Chunk Opera House on Saturday night. Can’t wait!!
On Friday night, singer-songwriter and local favorite Craig Thatcher is performing at a Penns Peak deck party – always a good time. The legendary Doobie Brothers take the Penns Peak stage Sunday, July 7.
And what would a rocking summer weekend be without fireworks…The American Legion Post is holding a Stay at Home Festival with fireworks on Saturday, July 6. http://www.jtfestival.com/July4.html
If you’re looking for different kinds of rocks, we’ve got them, too. There are plenty of-filled rock trails in Jim Thorpe, the gateway to the Pocono Mountains, for outdoor adventure whether you hike them, check them out while biking or raft right over them in the Lehigh River.
